Not well known: Increases in Insulin as with pcos and metabolic syndrome. Unopposed estrogen which is also a part of the above syndrome can cause similar findings. It' relationship to fertility is unknown, et we would suppose that it could have a negative effect and this might be why older gynecologists saw lots of pregnancies after d&c's? No studies good luck.

Hormonal variations: The endometrial lining grows in a very set pattern & has a typical appearance during each stage of a cycle. Dpe means that it is not developing/progressing in the normal stages. Pts who don't ovulate regularly (hence fertility troubles) get dpe bc ovulation results in Progesterone production, which ultimately causes the period to happen(if no conception), &no ov. =thick irreg endometrium, irreg pe.
