Makes sense: Since eczema is an immune disorder where the immune system is 'overactive', makes sense when he is sick and his immune system gets revved up that his eczema would flare up. Also, if fever is involved when he is ill, this can mildly dehydrate you, including the skin, again causing flare up. You need to be extra vigilant about moisturizing and pushing fluids when he is ill. Topical steroids may help.
