Yes: Do you take Methotrexate as well? Some individuals do develop antibodies to Enbrel (etanercept) over time which can limit its effectiveness. The concurrent use of Methotrexate can reduce that risk. Also, the disease can just become more active and the Enbrel (etanercept) becomes less able to control it. Do not worry. There are many very effective options. Talk to your rheumatologist.

See below: Tolerance can occur as a result of anti-chimeric antibodies which is where your body makes antibodies to enbrel (etanercept). It is less apt to occur if you are on methotrexate.
