Tremor types: Some factors which tend to point to essential (rather than parkinson's) tremor: young age, any benefit from Propranolol or beta-blockers, family history of tremor, tremor goes away during sleep, tremor is made worse with action (zippers, spoons, coins) but goes away when hands are at rest. You may benefit from an increase in med dosage or adding another med to reduce tremor. Good luck!

Parkinsonism?: There is a significant difference between essential tremor and that of parkinsons disease. It is not uncommon for a need to alter treatment for essential tremor over time. Consult you doctor and/or a neurologist to discuss how the diagnosis of parkinsons disease is made and if you have any indication of pd.
