Avascular necrosis: I assume you are talking about avascular necrosis also called aspetic necrosis which is loss of blood supply to the bone a lot of the time occurring in the femoral head. It can be caused by excessive steroid use, dislocation, blood clots, and sometimes even excessive alcohol use. Usually treatment is treating the underlying cause. Also you can try bone grafts, total joint replacements, etc.
