Yes: Individuals who have undergone lasik vision correction can safely play football. Prk (laser without a corneal flap) may even be safer.

Safe procedure: Yes, there are many studies and history of cases to show that lasic eye surgery is a safe and effective procedure, but you must qualify for that surgery first. I believe it's not recommended to have the procedure unless your vision prescription hasn't changed for a few years. You may still have flucuations in your near sightedness and may have to wait.
