No: Over the counter medications..I.E. Topical meds are completely worthless.

With the nail off: The medication applied should be more effective assuming your diagnosis is correct. Not sure what the phone has to do in the question.

Nail fungus: There are some prescription medicaitons such as a nail polish which contains prescription strength antifungal that can be used topically. Just be patient as it can take 9 months or more for the nail to regrow.

Nail off: First be sure there is no exposed tissue , because you will have a raging infection if you use that stuff on open skin. Frankly the otc fungus topicals are worthless
