Accutane: Acne is a disease of the hair follicle unit, often begins at puperty when male and female hormones stimulate the production of skin oil, sebum. Early lesions, age 11-16, are tiny bumps, black heads and white heads. Older kids often get large tender bumps, acne cysts. Many meds help acne, topicals and pills, but only Accutane can stop acne forever. You need to see a dermatologist for this drug.
