See below: 1st is your tetanus up to date, if not see a doctor for a tetanus booster. Wash the area well with soap and water. If a puncture site can be seen, scrub it well. Apply antiseptic and bandaid. If you feel that there is any metal in the foot then see a doctor. Watch for redness and swelling, since this will indicate start of infection.
