Very Serious Illness: Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder where one restricts their intake of food in order to lose weight. Symptoms include severe weight loss, use of laxatives and/or diuretics to lose weight, obsessive thoughts about food, compulsive eating rituals, depression, fatigue, loss of menstrual cycle, and compulsive exercising. This is serious life-threatening disorder requiring specialized treatment.

Extreme exertion--fitness schedulepushing food around on a plate, but not eating it. Denial of any problem. The patient feels great success at the weight loss.The patient has a distorted image of her'himself in the mirror-really doesn't see a problem with thinness.
