Cyst vs abscess: Small whiteheads are generally different from pimples. Whereas pimples tend to be inflammatory active lesions filled with white cells, white heads tend to be quiescent cysts filled with dead skin cells that may remain stable or rise to the surface and rupture. Popping a big pimple could create a big scar.

Acne: It is more likely to get larger, tender, draining pimples that may become infected if they are picked, popped or scratched. I would recommend seeing your doctor to get some medications--topical or oral--to improve and control your acne.

Benzoyl peroxide: Look for over the counter benzoyl peroxide cream-when applied to a pimple it will help it to dry up more quickly. You may be able to find it in skin concealer color, but if not, you can apply a small amount of foundation over the cream.

Treat cause: You should find out the cause such as acne and appropriately manage/treat the underlying condition or disease. A single pimple should be treated with gentle skin cleansings and warm compresses.
