Make it a game: Meeting people is a skill you have to develop. The most important skill is to let go of your pride and be comfortable making mistakes or looking foolish. I am terribly shy but no one knows because i've always pushed myself to grow with personal challenges: running for student office, joining an improv comedy group (i'm not that funny!), and sitting with a new person at lunch every day for a week.

Shyness is about....: Fear. Plain and simple. Just know that adolescent shyness is very common and can be overcome. Fear of being known, or embarrassed, or unable to speak, or being rejected. Overcoming shyness, or fear, requires acting "confident, non-fearful & outgoing, " believe it or not.
