It's a reaction : These are signs of anxiety. A few sessions with cognitive-behavioral therapist can make a world of difference. You may not be able to stop your body's reaction completely (it's an important signal for you) but you can shift how you think about the response and not make the reaction bigger and/or use techniques to calm quickly.

CBT: Seek a cognitive-behavioral therapist who specializes in phobias. One method they use is systematic desensitization which slowly and incrementally brings the person closer and closer to the thing they are afraid of in slow, graduated steps that help make the anxiety more tolerable.
