UTI's and levaquin (levofloxacin): Levaquin (levofloxacin) (l) is effective in treating most uti's. You need to have a reduced dose if you have chronic kidney disease. L may rarely cause tendon damage (such as tendinitis, tendon rupture) during or after treatment. Your risk for tendon problems is greater if you are over 60 years of age. Speak to your doctor about this drug, if it is for you.
