A member asked:

My 20 month old daughter has a hard lump under the skin of her pelvic region. it's about the size of a marble. i am concerned. what could it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lumps....: If you mean in the groin area it is most likely a lymph node. Is it tender? How long has it been there? Enlarged lymph node in children are not uncommon in the neck, the arm pits and the groin. If the lump is in some other area it is more worrisome but regardless i recommend you see a pediatrician to help you with decide next steps. Any lump needs to be taken seriously!
