Not so simple: The issue with vancomycin seems to be the recurrence rate with cdiff which can be significant. Approaches vary as does the cost. From vancomycin and Metronidazole to Rifampin and the newest Dificid (fidaxomicin...My personal favorite). This last one..While expensive..Has excellent cure rates with low recurrence. The other forms may have as high as a 30% recurrence., .
