Pulled muscle: You probably pulled your hamstring muscle. Rest , ice and gentle stretching should help. If conservative treatment doesn't resolve this than see your doctor to rule out a tear. Although highly unlikely it is possible.

Hamstring strain: Hamstring muscle strain. Indicates your hamstring was not able to handle the load you placed on it. After a short rest you should begin range if motion exercises and progressive strengthening. Progressive strengthening should progress to eccentric exercise (negatives) with high weight simulating the load that caused the mechanism of injury. Just resting and returning sets you up for reinjury.
