It's dose dependent: The difference between the tartrate and succinate formulation is the half-life (how long the medicine is active in your blood stream). Milligram for milligram, they're equivalent: e.g. 50 mg of met tart 2x a day is the same as 100 mg of met succ once a day. If your overall dose is increased, you could experience fatigue and dizziness till you get used to the new dose. Be sure your BP isn't too low.
