Could help prevent : 2 beta-blockers are approved by fda for migraine prophylaxis, Propranolol and timolol, so no reason to expect that metoprolol would not do similar control. But there are difficult adverse events, including faintness, exercise intolerance, depression, confusion, asthma, interference with diabetes, etc. If it works, and is tolerated well, you have a proper med.
