High calcium : I am not sure what you mean by "carbon monoxide" and you want to know about hypercalcemia (h) and heart burn, i can help you. H causes your stomach to secrete gastrin which increases the production of acid in your stomach. Causes of h are, hyperparathyroidism, hyperthyroidism, sarcodosis, among others. Have the physician who dealt with your esophagus to give an opinion of the cause of your problem.

High calcium: Have you been tested for hyperparathyroidism? It’s easy to do but many generalist don’t think about it first. Ask you doctor to simultaneously test calcium and PTH. If they are both high, you got it and your doctor can refer you on to a surgeon.
