A member asked:

Would you be most likely to get a yeast infection if you douche or wash too much?

Yes: Douching and frequent use of soaps may favor the overgrowth of yeast. By altering the normal bacterial population and normal ph (acid-base ) balance in the vagina, the environmental conditions may favor the uncontrolled growth of yeast that is also found in the vagina but is suppressed.
