A member asked:

For what length of time do people have autism?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lifelong for Most: For the majority of people autism is a lifelong condition. A small number of people have been said to grow out of autism or to have a marked improvement in symptoms, sometimes because they were misdiagnosed. Unfortunately for the majority they will continue to have autism throughout their life. But that doesn't mean that we cannot continue to try to improve their quality of life and experiences.
