Not really: A good therapist can help you gain confidence and overcome shyness. Sometimes, it helps if you can take small steps. Instead of having a big conversation, start with a brief impersonal comment (the weather is easy!). Take deep breaths and practice relaxing before you try to speak. An anti-anxiety med may help. Talk with your doctor.
