What is more addictive, Xanax (alprazolam) or ativan?

Both: Both medications can be addictive. Xanax (alprazolam) acts quickly which is why it is desired by most people. Ativan acts relatively quickly as well but not as immediate as xanax (alprazolam). Both medications can be addicting and should only be taken as needed or as advised by your physician.

And even though both are benzodiazepines, in some the withdrawal process from Xanax may be more difficult.
