Yes, can do it : Drowsiness is an effect of ativan, (lorazepam) and can be employed to assist falling asleep, especially if anxiety is preventing normal sleep hygiene, .

It can: Ativan (lorazepam) is sedating and can make you fall asleep if anxiety is preventing sleep. But it's not a good medicine to use for sleep specifically. There are better medicines to use in that case. Some people also have paradoxical reactions to ativan, (lorazepam) and become activated rather than relaxed.
