Is schizophrenia acquired or are we born with it? is someone born with a propensity for it or is it acquired in some way during your life?

Born with, but......: Schizophrenia has a largely genetic and neurodevelopmental etiology although it is often unmasked in times of severe stress. For example, people who move to new countries often go through enormous amounts of stress and this leads to deterioration in mental health that is thought to tip people who have a genetic propensity for schizophrenia towards developing the disease.
