Interesting: It's a complicated question. Digitalis, on its face, makes the heart squeeze a little harder and more forcefully. But the way we use it these days, its primary effect is to modulate the adrenaline system in the body, decreasing the levels of stress chemicals on the heart. Great question. Sorry i don't have more characters to give a longer answer.
