When is a cold sore no longer contagious? i know herpes is always there but when is a lesion "safe"? is it after the scab has fallen off?

Never for sure: There is no way to tell for sure. Some people shed the virus all the time, even when they do not have a cold sore, while cold sores are most contagious when they are oozing fluid, the virus can be transmitted to others even during times when you have no blisters.

How long cold sore contagious? Had a lesion just below lip line 6 days back. Took oral anti virals and anti viral cream for 5 days. Its a scar like skin now. No scab or anything. Am I still shedding or healed?
I dont know if what I have is a cold sore. If it is, its pretty close to healed because its flat and theres no more scabbing. But it never hurt so Im not sure it was a cold sore, and I want to be safe and not give my bf herpes if I kiss him.
If you have conracted herpes what are there any other symptoms that you may show if you dont get a cold sore with open lession and scab?
