At least 2 hours: At least 2 hours before planned bedtime. Ideally 2-4 hours. Some of this depends on medicatoin you may take for other reasons or other medical problems. In general you don't want to go to bed full or hungry.

No deadline: There is no scientific evidence that determines an optimal time between eating and sleeping. A number of people enjoy a good nap after lunch with no ill effects. Many people after a long day at work eat then sleep. It's more an individual matter than a medical issue.
