Travel Medications: Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen for pain and fever; Benadryl (diphenhydramine) is the other most useful versatile medication for itching rashes, allergic reactions and nasal congestion and cough; antibiotic ointment and steroid cream. You should get a prescription from your pediatrician for Azithromycin which is an antibiotic useful for the type of diarrhea you might encounter in se asia. Review immunization required.

Check out CDC Travel: Sorry i can't help but chuckle at irony of the global nature of medicine when someone from australia asks an american about travel to bali. Anyway, check out http://wwwnc.Cdc.Gov/travel/page/children for info regarding travel w/children. Then check out http://wwwnc.Cdc.Gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/indonesia for info that cdc recommends americans traveling to indonesia. Can't vouch for aus.
