Gender determination: In order to have a baby, you have to have sex. Unfortunately, you don't have too much choice in whether you have a girl or boy. Focus more on having a healthy baby rather than a specific gender. If you're still set on a girl, be prepared to pay out of pocket to have a reproductive endocrinologist wash your partner's sperm to attempt to separate the boys from the girls. Then you'll need art.

Sorry: If non-ai-sex selection was effective, the chinese culture would have mastered it, as they traditionally encourage male offspring. All the wives' tales are just that, no reliable way to modify chances of a y-carrying sperm getting to egg before a non-y-sperm. Good luck & hope for good health and long life in offspring!

Adopt: You could have eggs harvested and fertilized with dads sperm at a fertility center, then select a female embryo for implantation. However, this is costly and not guaranteed to work. There are a lot of myths about gender selection but none that work. You can obtain a girl through adoption, so if that is all you can live with that's your option.
