How does taking medicaction help in ocd patients?will they produce some chemicals that stops unwanted or rational thoughts?

Ocd: Medications can alter the neuro chemicals in the brain to decrease obsessions or compulsive behavior. Finding the right medication and amount can be troublesome and one must be patient during the process. Behavior management can be very helpful as well during the medicating phase. Eventually goal would be to be off medications and well controlled ocd. Hope that helps.
