A member asked:

Microscopic hematuria and cysto, bloodwork and ultrasound were fine. malb/cre ratio was 156. i know that is high. next steps are?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Microalbumin High: Blood in the urine most commonly arises in the setting of bleeding within the urinary system. However, sometimes blood can be in the urine because the kidney isn't filtering as it should, allowing the blood cells into the urine. Since your microalb/creat ratio is elevated, that could be a sign that the kidneys are leaking protein (not filtering well). You should see a nephrologist for evaluation.
