Now: Infertility is define as the inability to conceive after one year of unprotected intercourse. You are trying to conceive close to one year so you can ask your ob/gyn to order a semen analysis on your husband, there is really no down side by doing test early rather then late.

No way: For me to tell what your doctors will advise, but it would be appropriate for him to be evaluated at any time.

ANYTIME TO ANALYS: Sperm count can be done anytime if you are having difficulty conceiving for some time, it is a part of infertility overall exam, and if the sperm count and motility is normal and you are ovulating than with some effort you may conceive, if not you will need infertility work up to check the patency of your fallopian tubes.

Anytime would be fine: The semen analysis is very simple to obtain. It would rule out any malefactor immediately.
