HDL Cholestero: Hdl cholesterol is part of the lipid profile and it is tested on your blood.The test like any blood test has to be ordered by a physician and has to be interpreted by one.So see your doctor and he will order the test and also explain to you what is hdl, ldl, triglyserides and total cholesterol and how it will effect your health.

Done in a lab: Hdl is a general term for either hdl-cholesterol or HDL particle number. Both of these are blood tests, often done with other types of cholesterol , lipid and lipoprotein testing. The standard lipid panel consists of HDL cholesterol ( hdl-c) , total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol ( ldl-c) and triglycerides. This can be done through most health care providers at most medical labs.
