Listen to your body: A gp is trained in using medication for pain. If medications are not helping you and you are interested in getting at the root cause the osteopath's observation that you have scoliosis and pelvic displacement might lead to some non-toxic therapy that helps to relieve your pain. Muscle tightness causes pain and can cause curvature and displacement. Topial magnesium oil can be useful for back pain.

Depends: This depends on what your symptoms are and how big the scoliosis is. Pelvis 'displaced' is very nonspecific and one would have to see the xray's or examine you to know what that really means.
