See a doctor. : Most cases of lichen planus are relatively mild. Affected individuals who do not have symptoms do not need treatment. If the itch or appearance of the rash are unpleasant, topical corticosteroid creams may be applied. In some cases for localized, itchy, thick lesions, injections of corticosteroids may be given. You need to see a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Varies With Severity: May be triamcinolone or fluocinonide, for mild cases and decadron, temovate, prednisone, or Medrol (methylprednisolone) for severe cases. These are the generic names and the brand names vary in different countries. In a 6 yr old, normally i would start with Fluocinonide (lidex) or Decadron if severe. The choice might also vary with the location of the probem.
