Give it 3 months: Any time a pregnancy ends (whether miscarriage or full-term delivery) it can take a little while for the regular cycle to get reestablished. If you do not have a period by three months after the pregnancy test returned to negative you should see your gyn for evaluation.

Hormonal imbalance: In a chemical pregnancy test there is a positive pregnancy test but the embryo doesn't implant so there is no miscarriage. In most cases the cycle comes a few days late. If one is not having normal cycles there is generally a hormonal imbalance which can be aggravated by stress, low vit d3, and other factors.
