how do i alleviate stomach cramps?

1 doctor answer
Dr. Jared Adams
10 years experience General Practice
Depends on cause: This is difficult to answer because stomach cramps can represent pain from any internal abdominal organ, not just the stomach. If you have fever, tenderness to the touch, vomiting, or severe constipation call a doctor. Otherwise, low tech remedies include light exercise, heat, massage, stretching, and breathing. Otc aspirin+caffeine if menses related, otherwise simethicone, peptobismol or laxative.
