Pterygium: Your description sounds like a pterygium, a growth of fibrovascular tissues from the white of the eye onto the cornea. An evaluation by an eye md will help to reassure the proper diagnosis and to advise treatment recommendations. Their presence is typically from excessive uv exposure, wind, dust, dry eye or inflammatory ocular surface diseases.

Should be examined: The most likely diagnosis is a pinguecula, which is very common and related to sun and environmental exposures. Pterygium is another possibility--these can grow over the cornea, but are not malignant. Lymphoma and carcinoma in situ rarely present in this manner. You should be checked by an ophthalmologist.
