Yep: Lymphadenopathy and lymphedema can also cause tongues to swell- a follow-up with a dds/dmd should be one of your first follow-up visits.

Swollen tongue: Trauma, infection, allergies, neoplasms and certain medical conditions can all cause the tongue to swell. It's best to see both your general dentist or an oral surgeon and your pcp or ENT specialist to go over your complete dental and medical history along with clinical exams, and perhaps some tests unless this was a single brief episode and gone now.
