A member asked:

Are strepsils safe to take when pregnant in 8th month.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably, but why?: Strepsils contain two active ingredients, amylmetacresol and 2, 4-dichlorobenzyl alcohol. These are antiseptics, which can kill bacteria associated with mouth and throat infections. However, as indicated on the packet, research has not shown them to reduce the length or severity of an infection. Not tested on pregnant women, so best not to take, but unlikely to have harmed your baby. Good luck.
