Hydrocephalus causes: Hydrocephalus in newborns may be due to the following obstructive - due to aquaductal stenosis, a failure to open or extreme narrowing of the path for CSF from 3rd to 4th ventricle. Tumors may also obstruct CSF flow. Communicating - failure for the structures that absorb csf, carrying it out of the skull. Communicating hydrocephalus may be due to bleeding and infection.
