Sometimes: The most common two causes of pain after dental treatment are: 1) the restoration is too tall and is hypersensitizing the nerve, or 2) the nerve has been stimulated by the procedure and is inflamed. If the bite is too tall (you can tell when you chew), get it adjusted. If the nerve is inflamed, give it time. If it worsens (which happens), you may need additional treatment (nerve removal).
