It's possible.: There is no way to recommend tonsillectomy without a comprehensive history and physical. The most common reason to remove tonsils in an adult is due to frequent infections: 7 sore throats in 1 year, 5-6 per year for 2 years, 4-5 per year for 3 years. Basically showing frequent sore throats for a prolonged period. One can also make an argument if a lot of work or school is missed.
