Unfortunately not...: A common wive's tale is that one gains weight after gb surgery. In fact, gb removal doesn't directly affect weight; but, if one has been avoiding fatty foods prior to surgery and they can now tolerate these foods after surgery, some people do gain weight. As far as those adhesions, that reflects many prior attacks--the gb gets "sticky" when inflamed; neighboring structures can adhere to it.

No: Some patient's may lose some weight initially after gallbladder surgery due to the time it takes the intestine to adjust to not having the gallbladder. Quickly your intestine will adjust and most patient's gain whatever weight they have lost back. Adhesions are caused anytime we do surgery.
