Dirty Wound: Clean the wound. Rinse out the wound with clear water. Soap can irritate the wound, so try to keep it out of the actual wound. If dirt or debris remains in the wound after washing, use tweezers cleaned with alcohol to remove the particles. If debris still remains, see your doctor as the debris can cause an infection.

Poor healing: Depends on how much dirt and whether there is infection. Infection may occur. The body may eventually remove the dirt by forcing it to the surface. If the wound heals with the dirt in place it may cause permanent discoloration, this is called traumatic tattooing.
