Somewhat unlucky: Lid hygeine and systemic antibiotics can help so you do have recurrences. Talk to you eye doctor for treatment.

No doom: Sorry to hear about your struggle! it appears that your local immunity may be compromised. What causes it is a question. Get your sugar checked to rule out diabetes. Also, there may be some sort of inflammation of the eyelid rim that makes it prone to infection. Look for things such as dust mites that seem to play a role in that. Talk to ophthalmologist about it if you've not done so yet.

Blepharitis: You likely have chronic blepharitis which makes you prone to have styes. A visit to an ophthalmologist will get you started on treatment for this.

Get evaluated: Repeated styes could be sign that you may have blepharitis. Consider an evaluation with a general ophthalmologist or a oculoplastic surgeon, it probably can be controlled.

Sty: A sty is a moderately inflamed "sweat duct" in the eyelid. I tell my patients to get a damp wash cloth and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Test it on your wrist to make sure it's not too hot. Place warm compress the closed eyelid for about5-10 minutes and re-heating as necessary. If it does not get better in a week or gets worse go to your eye doctor.

Treatable: A stye is the equivalent of a acne on the eyelids. The stye is a plugged oil gland, and once you have one, you most likely have a condition that makes you prone to having others. The good news is that this condition (meibomitis) is controllable, and with control, the chances that a stye will develop decreases or disappears. See you eye md for treatment options.
