Could be awhile: If your question is, how soon after discontinuing taking the depot Provera (medroxyprogesterone) shots will period become regular, the answer is, it could take awhile. Majority of women will have cycle within 3 months, but for some women i've taken care of, can take up to 9 even 12 months. Bottom line, even though you're 45, you could still get pregnant. Make sure if you don't want to be pregnant, you have a back up.
