A member asked:

Is it possible to take uti antibiotics (cipro) and use canesten (yeast infection cream) at the same time. or should i wait?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

May help some: Unfortunately antibiotics kill more than the bacteria causing your uti. They also kill useful surface bacteria that protect you from yeast. Canesten may help your symptoms now but may not cure you of the yeast until after your antibiotics are complete. If your symptoms aren't too bad you might wait until the last couple of days of your cipro (ciprofloxacin). If severe check with your primary care doctor.
